How to choose

Weight

Lightweight rugs are for mid-season; heavier ones are for cold winters. Choose according to climate, clip, and the horse's condition.

Waterproofing

Outdoor rugs have a technical waterproof layer; stable rugs do not. Using a stable rug in the pasture when it rains is counterproductive.

Fit

A well-sized rug covers from the withers to the tail without rubbing; check for rub areas daily.

Frequently Asked Questions

What weight should I choose?

According to climate, clip, and the horse's condition: lightweight for mid-season, heavy for cold winters.

Can a stable rug be used in the pasture?

No: it's not waterproof and, if it rains, it will get soaked and chill the horse.

How do I choose the size?

By measuring from the center of the chest to the base of the tail; each brand has its own size chart.
