What to wear to your first riding lesson?
For your first lesson, comfortable, non-chafing clothing is usually enough: long pants (not too wide), sneakers or ankle boots with a small heel (no flat running-style shoes), and a short or long-sleeved shirt. The stable usually provides a helmet for your first time. There is no need to buy specific gear until you have confirmed that you like horse riding and plan to continue.
Clothing for the first lesson
Long pants to avoid chafing against the saddle (basic jeans work for the first time). Sneakers with a small heel or low ankle boots. A comfortable shirt.
What the center provides
Loaner helmet, saddled and bridled horse, and an instructor. You do not need your own equipment.
When to start buying equipment
After 3-5 lessons, if you get hooked on horse riding, it is a good idea to buy at least your own well-fitted helmet and technical breeches. Total: €80-150.
