How to get the right size
A tall riding boot is not chosen by shoe size alone. Three measurements are needed, which is exactly what prevents the most returns:
- Foot length, from toe to heel, while standing.
- Height, from the ground to the hollow behind the knee.
- Calf circumference, at its widest point.
Measure yourself wearing your riding breeches, not jeans or with a bare leg: the difference is several centimeters and it is the most common reason a boot does not close. Do it in the afternoon, as the foot and calf swell during the day.

This model is also sold by shaft width: XL. Choose it according to your leg measurement, not your foot size.
Several brands manufacture the same model in different shaft widths as separate references. If the calf circumference is a tight fit, look for the wide version before going up a foot size.
Leather stretches slightly in circumference with use and the shaft drops a few millimeters as ankle creases form, but it does not stretch in foot length: do not compensate for a short size hoping it will stretch. If you are between two sizes, choose the larger one.
