Safety, stability and less stress for horses and ponies during any veterinary treatment

Designed to facilitate veterinary check-ups, treatments, and care in a safe, controlled, and efficient manner. Its robust structure provides the horse with a sense of security, reducing stress and allowing the veterinarian to work calmly and without risk. It is also ideal for inseminations during the breeding season.

Benefits of the examination crush

  • Allows for uncomplicated examinations and treatments by the veterinarian.
  • Helps to calm nervous or restless horses during interventions.
  • Used for mare insemination, providing safety and stability.
  • Protects both the veterinarian and the animal against sudden movements.
  • Some models include a scale to record weight during the check-up.

Construction

  • Stable structure made of hot-dip galvanized steel tubes.
  • Sides with steel tubes (for treatments) or wood/bamboo panels (for insemination).
  • Front and rear doors, manageable with one hand.
  • No sharp edges to prevent injury.

Use

  • Guide the horse through the rear door to the correct position.
  • Close the rear door to prevent exit.
  • In case of very restless animals, secure with an additional rope.
  • The open sides allow the veterinarian to work from any angle.

Common sizes

  • Height: 120–130 cm
  • Length: 150–210 cm
  • Width: 83–130 cm

The height should exceed the horse's withers to ensure safety and containment. The crush should be slightly larger than the horse to prevent it from turning around, but without compromising its comfort.

Materials

  • Structure: galvanized steel or sheet metal.
  • Cladding: wood, bamboo, or plastic depending on the model.
  • Some versions incorporate anti-slip rubber on the rear door to prevent injury.

Types of examination crushes

  • Unilateral examination crush (to be placed against a wall).
  • Double crush (freestanding, closed on both sides).
  • Crush with integrated scale.
  • Crush with anti-slip floor.
  • Crush with tubular frame, ideal for examining the abdomen and limbs.

Indicative costs

Between €1,000 and €4,000, depending on size, equipment, and materials.
The most economical models are usually tubular structures; the most advanced ones include accessories such as rubber flooring, wood panels, or a scale.
