The Kids are designed for small hands that are learning how to feel the reins. They feature non-slip relief on the palm and a horse head on the back—which, honestly, is half the reason why a child will put them on without complaining.

What sets them apart

  • Non-slip relief distributed across the palm, so the reins don't slip.
  • Horse head on the back with a glossy finish.
  • Elastic cuff with branded tab, easy for them to put on by themselves.
  • Thin construction, to maintain sensitivity while learning.
  • True child sizing, not just a shrunk-down adult glove.

Children's sizes

Available in 3, 4, 5. For children's gloves, it is best not to buy with room to grow: a glove that is too big will rotate on the hand and cause a loss of feel on the rein, which is exactly what a child is learning to sense. Measure the circumference of the palm excluding the thumb and compare it to the size; when in doubt, choose the tighter fit.

What to look for in a riding glove

  • Grip between the fingers and on the palm: this is what prevents the reins from slipping when hands are sweaty or in the rain.
  • Seams: if you can feel the inner seam over your knuckle when closing your hand, it will chafe after half an hour of riding.
  • Wrist closure: it should hold firmly without being tight. A glove that shifts when you pull on the rein is a glove that is too big.

Care

Hand wash them with cold water and mild soap, shaping them when hanging them to dry, and let them air dry away from heat sources. No washing machine or dryer: heat hardens the palm material and removes the grip.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know my size?

Measure the circumference of your palm at the knuckles with a tape measure, excluding the thumb. That number in centimeters is approximately your size.

Tight or loose?

Tight. Riding gloves stretch slightly with use, and a loose glove reduces sensitivity on the reins and causes blisters.

Can they be washed?

By hand, with cold water and mild soap, and air-dried away from heat sources. Never in a washing machine or dryer.
