The Ouraye is the airbag vest born from the collaboration between Harcour and Hit-Air, the Japanese brand that has been manufacturing airbags for decades.
How an equestrian airbag works
The vest is attached to the saddle via a lanyard. If the rider is thrown, the separation of the lanyard triggers a CO₂ cartridge by percussion, and the air chambers inflate before impact, cushioning the blow to vital areas. After each deployment, the cartridge must be replaced.

How to choose the right size
This model comes in numerical sizes, 1 and 2. Since the vest is worn over riding gear, it is best to choose it with the thickest garment you intend to wear it over in mind, not just over a t-shirt.
Frequently asked questions
Does it need to be reloaded after a fall?
Yes. The CO₂ cartridge is for single use: after each activation, it must be replaced for the vest to be operational again.
Can it be machine washed?
No. An airbag vest should not be machine washed or submerged: it contains the air chamber and the mechanism. Clean it dry with a soft brush and air dry.
When should it be inspected?
It is advisable to check the lanyard, the cartridge, and the attachment to the saddle regularly, and to follow the inspection schedule indicated by the manufacturer in the manual.
