How to choose the right size
A tall riding boot is not chosen by foot size alone. Three measurements are required, and they are the ones that prevent most returns:
- Foot length, from toe to heel while standing.
- Height, from the floor to the hollow at the back of the knee.
- Calf circumference, at its widest point.
Measure yourself while wearing riding breeches, not jeans or with a bare leg: the difference is several centimetres and is the most common reason a boot will not close. Do this in the afternoon, when your foot and calf are swollen from the day.
