Important size information

Compare your shoe size, shaft height, and calf circumference with the official guide for this model, available next to the size selector.

Measure yourself while wearing your riding breeches and socks. Do not go up a shoe size to compensate for a narrow shaft: check the measurements of the version you are choosing.

How to get the right size

A tall riding boot is not chosen by shoe size alone. Three measurements are required, and this is exactly what prevents the most returns:

  • Foot length, from toe to heel while standing.
  • Height, from the ground to the hollow behind the knee.
  • Calf circumference, at its widest point.

Measure yourself while wearing riding breeches, not jeans or bare legs: the difference is several centimeters and is the most common reason why a boot won't zip up. Do it in the afternoon, as your feet and calves swell during the day.

Sizes for this model: 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42.

Several brands manufacture the same model in different shaft widths as separate references. If the calf circumference is tight, look for the wide version before sizing up your shoe size.

Leather gives slightly in circumference with use and the shaft drops a few millimeters as the ankle creases form, but it does not stretch in foot length: do not compensate for a short size hoping it will stretch. If you are between two sizes, choose the larger one.

Care

Remove mud as soon as you finish riding, before it dries. Clean with a damp cloth and occasionally apply a leather-specific moisturizing product.

Let them air dry, away from radiators and direct sunlight, and store them upright with boot trees or shapers so the shaft does not collapse.

Frequently asked questions

Why do riding boots have a heel?

It is a safety measure: it prevents the foot from sliding through the stirrup.

Do they stretch?

Leather gives slightly in calf circumference with use and the shaft drops a few millimeters as creases form at the ankle. They do not stretch in foot length, so do not compensate for a short size hoping they will stretch.

Which size should I choose if I am between two?

In general, the larger one: a tight boot cannot be fixed with use. If the problem is the calf circumference, see if the model exists in a wide version.
