Care
Remove mud as soon as you finish riding, before it dries. Clean with a damp cloth and occasionally apply a specific leather conditioner.
Let them air dry, away from radiators and direct sunlight, and store them upright with boot trees or shapers so the shaft does not collapse.
How to choose the right size
A tall riding boot is not chosen by foot size alone. Three measurements are needed, which is precisely what avoids the most returns:
- Foot length, from toe to heel while standing.
- Height, from the ground to the hollow behind the knee.
- Calf circumference, at its widest point.
Measure yourself wearing your riding breeches, not jeans or with a bare leg: the difference is several centimeters and is the most common reason a boot does not close. Do it in the afternoon, as the foot and calf swell during the day.
Sizes for this model: 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42.
Several brands manufacture the same model in different shaft widths as separate references. If the calf circumference is too tight, look for the wide version before going up a foot size.
The leather gives a little in circumference with use and the shaft drops a few millimeters as creases form at the ankle, but it does not give in foot length: do not compensate for a short size hoping it will stretch. If you are between two sizes, choose the larger one.
Frequently asked questions
Why do riding boots have a heel?
It is a safety measure: it prevents the foot from sliding and going through the stirrup.
Do they stretch?
The leather gives a little in calf circumference with use and the shaft drops a few millimeters as creases form at the ankle. It does not give in foot length, so do not compensate for a short size hoping they will stretch.
Which size should I choose if I am between two?
In general, the larger one: a tight boot in the foot does not get better with use. If the problem is the calf circumference, check if the model exists in a wide version.
