A tall riding boot is not chosen solely by foot size. Three measurements are needed, and this is precisely what avoids the most returns:
- Foot length, from toe to heel while standing.
- Height, from the floor to the hollow behind the knee.
- Calf circumference, at its widest point.
Measure yourself while wearing riding breeches, not jeans or with a bare leg: the difference is several centimeters and is the most common cause for a boot not closing. Do it in the afternoon, as the foot and calf swell during the day.
