The Vellquine Basic Plastron is a plastron from Vellquine, Rincón del Valle's own brand. It is the piece that finishes the collar in competition and the most noticeable in a track photo.
Vellquine is Rincón del Valle's own brand: we design and sell it ourselves, so any questions about size, fit, or replacement are resolved directly without going through a distributor. If something doesn't fit you, you have 30 days to return it.
When to wear a plastron
The plastron is part of the competition uniform in dressage and, depending on the level and event, also in show jumping and eventing. The general rule is a white plastron for official competition; colors are reserved for training, exhibitions, and social events. Always check your federation's current regulations before the event.
How to put it on
- It is worn over the competition shirt, with the shirt collar tucked in so that no fabric shows underneath.
- It should be centered and flat: if it opens in a "V" when riding, the back closure is too loose.
- Always carry a spare in your competition bag. It is the garment most easily stained before entering the track.
