Back protector with integrated airbag, assembled in France in Freejump's workshops. The airbag is inside the protector, not on top of it, and that is the difference: it distributes the impact optimally with a single garment, which is 20% lighter than wearing the two separately.

Two protections in one garment

The X'Air Safe is not an airbag worn over a protector: it is a back protector with the airbag integrated inside. According to Freejump data, this combination offers eight times more protection than a protector alone and four times more than a protector with an airbag on top, because the inner airbag distributes the impact optimally.

And it weighs less: 20% less than the sum of a cross-country protector and an airbag. The cartridge is half the size of a conventional airbag vest.

Materials

• Military-grade Cordura exterior, with maximum resistance to abrasion, tearing, and UV rays.
• 3D Mesh interior, which provides comfort and breathability.
• Two technical foams in the lining: a dense exterior one that distributes the impact, and an interior rubber one—the same as used in bulletproof vests—that absorbs the blow.
• Laser-cut inserts and foams and automated compartment assembly for 100% repeatability.

Freejump airbag technology

It features an ultra-fast gas generator and a patented safety lanyard. The full inflation speed is 89 meters per second in size M, ensuring reliable operation regardless of the horse's height. It is assembled in France, in Freejump's workshops.

Easy rearming: the generator is the most powerful on the market while being the smallest and lightest. The plug has a guide when unscrewing it and cannot be lost when screwing it back on. The ball retention clip allows the lanyard to be changed easily and safely.

Cartridges: which one corresponds to each size

It is essential to use only new X'Air Safe cartridges of the same volume as the one that comes with the garment.

Warranty

Registering the X'Air Safe on the Freejump website grants a two-year extension, for a total of four years of warranty against manufacturing defects in the airbag system, and includes a free safety inspection within the first two years from the purchase of the protector.

Freejump sizes the X'Air Safe based on four body measurements (chest, waist, shoulder height, and waist-to-shoulder distance). This is their official chart:

How each measurement is taken, according to Freejump:

• A · Chest: maximum horizontal perimeter, standing and breathing normally, passing the tape under the shoulder blades, under the armpits, and across the chest.
• B · Waist: maximum horizontal perimeter, standing and breathing normally, passing the tape over the navel.
• C · Shoulder height: from the navel, passing over the shoulder, to the same point on the back.
• D · Waist to shoulder: along the back, from the waistline to the shoulder line.

The T in the XST, ST, MT, and LT sizes indicates the long version: same contours, greater back height. They are designed for tall people.

Minimum user weight, indicated by Freejump: 25 kg for child sizes and 35 kg from size XXS upwards. From size XXS, the X'Air Safe is suitable for people 1.45 m tall or taller.
